Cloud Industry Overview

Each cloud technology player has their own way of employing cloud technology having several niche use cases for targeting specific business needs and industries.  The major cloud providers help new businesses by providing an entry point into utilizing a seemingly unlimited amount of on-demand web based computing power and have built a solid framework to ease the transition for existing businesses to migrate data centers to the cloud.

Microsoft serves the entrenched enterprise Fortune 500 companies that want to migrate their existing tech frameworks into a familiar model for hosting their computing needs using frameworks they are already accustomed with.  Microsoft deals with big players in all industries that have the ability to expend capital to meet their cloud computing need once a technology or framework is standardized across all cloud players.  Microsoft depends on cloud technology internally to drive their own cloud based offerings including Office 365 and OneDrive.

Amazon Web Services likes to embrace startups and nimble web companies who seek to make use of the latest and greatest innovations that AWS has cooked up.  Amazon has in-roads into the cloud as a market leader with large lead as a first mover in the development of nascent cloud based infrastructure as a service model.

IBM deals with customers with large amounts of data for data mining and by extension customer knowledge base development.  IBM's foray into the cloud is often overshadowed by the development of compute intensive Watson. Watson is now being streamlined and optimized for the masses as IBM shifts its focus from providing basic compute cycles to sophisticated field specific expertise and large-scale problem solving capabilities.

Google is a late-comer to cloud computing, although has managed to flesh out a comprehensive cloud strategy augmented with machine learning using convolutional neural networks.  Googles TensorFlow machine learning framework has become a widely adopted (and well documented) way of implementing neural network based AI optimizations.  Google's expertise in search has allowed it to quickly become a major contender in the cloud industry.

Existential Rant about Time

Time does not really exist; only change exists as a constant. The future is a change in the current situation brought on by previous conditions. Time is merely a tool invented by humans to find order and patterns in a complex and chaotic universe. Time is a technological tool for advancement of the human species. For example the calendar is one of the most ancient and most widely used standard for managing our time.
